  • Jason Arnott - C - NAS: Predators to stay in... Mar 13, 10:31AM

The Predators have reached an agreement to stay in Nashville for two more seasons. The team and the Metro Sports Authority which is the city of Nashville's landlord at the Bridgestone Arena, reached the agreement on Friday. The Predators will not be able to use the early termination clause in the new agreement, so any suggestions that the Predators are relocating are moot until at least 2012. "The ownership group worked quickly with the Sports Authority to reach a fair settlement of the issues," mayor Karl Dean said. "Metro government is in a more secure position for it. We now have assurance that the team will be here in Nashville through 2012, at a minimum. I appreciate the Predators leadership in this situation, and all that they do to help us have a thriving downtown."

  • Justin Peters - G - CAR: Peters likely starter... Mar 13, 10:28AM

Look for Justin Peters to get the start Saturday against the Coyotes. Peters was excellent against the Penguins in a 4-3 OT win Thursday stopping 40 shots and certainly earned the start against Phoenix.

  • Brandon Sutter - C - CAR: Sutter could play... Mar 13, 10:25AM

Hurricane coach Paul Maurice is hopeful that Brandon Sutter (leg) will be able to play Saturday night against Phoenix. Sutter injured his leg in the first period of Thursday's game but seemed quite a bit better on Friday. He will be re-evaluated sometime on Saturday to determine if he can suit up. If you have a reasonable replacement for Sutter, we would keep the young forward on reserve. Otherwise, take your chances and start him.

  • Guillaume Latendresse - LW,RW - MIN: Latendresse plays... Mar 13, 10:25AM

Guillaume Latendresse (neck) was able to play against the Sabres on Friday. Latendresse took a high-stick to the back of his neck from Brian Rafalski on Thursday. "A guy like Rafalski, I'm sure it was accidental," Latendresse said. "He's not that kind of guy. I'm pretty sure he felt pretty bad about that after the game. He's not a dirty guy. "My movement is not 100 percent. I cannot move the way I want. When I skate I feel like I try to protect myself. But it's part of the game. Everybody has injuries. We need everybody to play." Despite being less than 100 percent, Latendresse still managed to score his 24th goal of the season on Friday. He should be on someone's fantasy roster in all but the shallowest of pools.

  • Ryan Miller - G - BUF: Miller likely to shine... Mar 13, 10:17AM

Look for Ryan Miller to shine Saturday against the Red Wings. Miller is from East Lansing Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State. His parents, grandparents and numerous friends will be in the crowd tonight to see him face off against Detroit and his brother Drew, who skates for the Wings. This is the type of game superstars love to play in and we expect Miller to rise to the occaison.

  • Paul Gaustad - C - BUF: Gaustad probable... Mar 13, 10:07AM

Paul Gaustad will likely return to the Sabre lineup for Saturday night's game against Detroit. He missed his fifth straight game with an undisclosed upper-body injury Friday but seems ready to return after feeling no ill effects following Thursday's practice. If for some reason Gaustad is on your fantasy squad, feel free to activate him.

  • Jonathan Bernier - G - LA: Bernier likely to... Mar 13, 9:58AM

Despite an outstanding effort against Dallas, Jonathan Bernier will be sent back down to the minors when Jon Quick returns. Bernier stopped 29 shots in a 2-1 shootout win over Dallas on Friday. Bernier was recalled when Quick, the Kings' number one goalie, returned to Los Angeles for the birth of his first child. The Quick's had a baby girl on Friday morning and Bernier will return to Manchester of the AHL, once the Kings are sure that Quick will be in the lineup, which will hopefully be on Sunday when they face Nashville. "He's a very talented young man and he's worked very hard this year to get his game to a good level and having good success," coach Terry Murray said. "The opportunity and the preparation came together here tonight, and I really like what I saw." Don't forget about him next season even with Quick at the top of the depth charts.
